Via Ferrata – La Roche Veyrand
DESCRIPTIONS & INFORMATION
The Roche Veyrand via ferrata is undoubtedly THE major via ferrata in Isère! It's a huge, aerial route, with an atmosphere akin to that of the great climbing routes. Located in the commune of St Pierre d'Entremont in the very heart of the Chartreuse massif between Grenoble, Chambéry and Lyon, this via ferrata on the border between Isère and Savoie is divided into 2 sections: a discovery section and a more sporting and aerial section. The first part can be done on a half-day basis and presents no major difficulties. There are plenty of fun climbs on the beautiful Chartreuse limestone, as well as a beam and a large footbridge that allow you to soar quietly above the village of St Pierre d'Entremont. The view of the Chartreuse massif begins to unfold. The second part of the Roche Veyrand via ferrata is the most aerial and impressive. The large footbridge at the "Pas de la Frousse" and then the "Pont des Balmes" will take you right into the middle of this beautiful face of very compact rock, where the void will open up beneath your feet. A vertiginous atmosphere for this part of the via ferrata. As you can see, the entire Roche Veyrand via ferrata is a day trip, so pack a picnic and set off to conquer this legendary Chartreuse summit! Few via ferrata in Isère and Savoie can boast the same scope. So if you're a sporty type, if you're in the mood for adrenalin and you're not afraid of heights, this via ferrata will be a great challenge!Minimum age: 12 years

2Is the Roche Veyrand accessible for a first via ferrata?
It's a very sporty via ferrata, a fairly long route with an airy atmosphere. You need to be sporty and not be afraid of heights to get the most out of it. It could be your first via ferrata, but it's ideal if you've already done some climbing. If in doubt, give us a call!

Yes, of course. The instructor can easily belay you with a rope on the most difficult sections.
4Is it possible to stop in the middle if I'm too tired?
The Roche Veyrand via ferrata has 2 sections. You can leave at the end of the first section and catch the descent path, but if you start on the 2nd section, you won't be able to escape.
XAVIER
You don't find an atmosphere like this via ferrata everywhere. The quality of the rock, the numerous natural holds and, above all, the layout of this route give it a great climbing atmosphere that we particularly appreciate!
CHARLIE
In a word: wild! The hike to and from the via-ferrata and the mountainous setting give the impression of a real expedition.
